Please join the members of the Caltech Latino Association of Scientists and Engineers (CLASES) and Club Latino for a viewing of a movie (based on a true story) about a group of innovative teens from different backgrounds who team up to compete in a robotics competition against some of the top student teams in the US.  *Dinner provided

Keynote “Identity and Ambiguity” & Raffle

Please join the Caltech Community for a talk and discussion on how ambiguity can increase the potential for bias in higher education.

Rodolfo Mendoza-Denton Ph.D.

Rodolfo Mendoza-Denton is a Richard & Rhoda Goldman Professor of psychology at UC Berkeley, and co-director of the UCB's Relationships and Social Cognition Laboratory. He studies prejudice, stigma, intergroup relations, cross-race-friendships and cultural psychology. He received his Ph.D. from Columbia University, and his B.A. from Yale University.  He is also the author of the book entitled “Are We Born Racist?

Raffle:  The members of CLASES and Club Latino will raffle off two tickets to the June 4th soccer match Brazil vs Ecuador at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, CA.   You can only pick up raffle tickets (they are free and for Caltech community members only) at the Diversity Center on Wednesday and Thursday May 11th and 12 room 268. 

*On May 13, 2016 during the Semana Latina Keynote, the members of CLASES and Club Latino will raffle off 2 tickets to the June 4th soccer match between Brazil and Ecuador.  You must be present at the drawing to win.    Winners must secure their own transportation to and from the Rose Bowl Stadium on June 4, 2016.
